Vallpiga is an experimental, multidisciplinary performance, which combines Nordic archaic singing tradition and live drawing. Themes of loneliness, contact and human voice are approached in dialogue of two sisters and their different forms of expression.
The 50 minutes performances sound material is mainly based on the Swedish shepherds music tradition (vallmusik), songs that were sung at the forests, often by young shepherd girls (in Swedish “vallpiga”).
